The 1956 Wurlitzer Model 2000 Jukebox also known as the Centennial Model is one of the most desirable jukeboxes on the current market.  The Wurlitzer Model 2000 was the first 200 select jukebox introduced by Wurlitzer.  It holds 100 records in a round carousel and plays both sides of the 45 RPM records.
One thing that collectors love about the Wurlitzer Model 2000 Jukebox are the flip pages which hold the title strips.  More than half of the original Wurlitzer Model 2000 jukeboxes found are missing the "flip pages."
The Wurlitzer Model 2000 has a three piece lower grill and two glass pilasters with a "fireworks" design behind the glass pilasters.  The pilasters are illuminated by fluorescent bulbs.
The selections are made by 3 groups of buttons located on the chrome keyboard. The selection letters are "A-V" with no "I or O." The number selections are zero through nine.
The front dome glass is very expensive to replace if missing.  The side glasses both have the "200" logo silk screened on them. The back door has a gold embossed foil glued and stapled to it.  The top 'logo' glass is black with "Wurlitzer" in silver color.
The Wurlitzer Model 2000 jukeboxes originally accepted nickels, dimes, quarters, and half-dollars. It is always more desirable to find the original "coin gear" in an unrestored jukebox.
The height of a Wurlitzer Model 2000 is 55 5/8", the width is 34 3/4", and the depth is 28". The weight of a complete original 2000 is 375 pounds. Originally Wurlitzer made 7,500 model 2000's.
Now the big question -- what is a Wurlitzer Model 2000 worth? A Wurlitzer Model 2000 missing the flip pages in rough condition can be valued at a minimum of $500.  Please keep in mind, this would be very rough, missing parts, and needing a 100% full restoration.  A Wurlitzer Model 2000 in nice original condition with the flip pages should be valued at a minimum of $4,500.  A fully restored Wurlitzer Model 2000 would sell for $10,000+ as of January 2012. Keep in mind because of the soft jukebox market and fluctuation in the economy, it currently cost more to restore a Wurlitzer Model 2000 than it can be sold for.  Because of this reason many Wurlitzers from 1956 end up in Europe. The good thing about machines going to Europe is they are brought back to fully operational condition and most are displayed in public areas.
The Aaron Baker Company is always interested in purchasing Wurlitzer Model 2000 jukeboxes in any condition.  We guarantee to pay current market prices.
